Keeping Christmas

‘For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour,
who is Christ the Lord.’
Luke 2:11

Christmas comes

It comes every year.
It comes with noise and crowds and gift wrapping.
It comes with lots of shopping, whether we are ready for it or not.
December brings a new type of ‘busy’ into our lives.

Christmas goes

It goes as quickly as it came with crumbled Christmas paper and left over Ham. It goes with the taking down of lights.

Take time to rest in the true meaning of the celebration. God’s only Son was born in Bethlehem and laid in a manger, sent from heaven to save us from our sin and from our own lives and give us everlasting life

This year, let Christmas stay
As December melts away into January and a New Year begins

Keep Christmas

Let the Christ of Christmas make every day a little happier, a little brighter and a little bigger - Make life the special occasion, not just December 25 - Keep Christmas this year ... all year

A New Beginning

As we welcome 2013 begin life afresh, have another new start.
Each day, live to-day, look forward not back, finding time to assess – keeping blessings we possess

How exiting the unknown, the joy it can bring and positively looking for the best
Keeping good intentions in mind and let God take care of the rest

Father, we know this is a tough season for some. They feel unloved at Christmas time. Help each of those find your love, and know that, whatever the world brings their way, they can always rely on your love.

Thankyou for the gift of your only Son, sent so that we may have life instead of death. Help us to keep the Spirit of Christmas in our hearts and celebrate Jesus all year long. In Jesus name we pray

Elaine Hales
